Richard took Core Laboratories public and listed it on the New York Stock Exchange.

Core Laboratories NV, established in 1936, is one of the world's leading providers of proprietary and patented reservoir description, production enhancement and reservoir management services to the oil and gas industry.  These products and services enable Core Lab's clients to improve reservoir performance and increase oil and gas recovery from the fields.  

Core Labs has over 70 offices in more than 50 countries and has approximately 4,900 employees.

Path to Core Laboratories...

Richard concentrated in the oil and gas industry in a path that led to Core Labs. 

  • Richard worked for The Gulf Oil Treasury Department in 1977 and in 1983 he joined Global Marine as Assistant Treasurer.
  • In 1987 Richard became the Treasurer of Western Atlas International Inc, a division of Western Atlas.   
  • In 1991 Richard was appointed Area Manager for Finance and Administration for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East operations of Western Geophysical a division of Western Atlas.  From the company's separation with Western Atlas in 1994 until 1999, he served as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer.  

In 1999 Richard was appointed Executive Vice President of Core Laboratories N.V.

Key Achievements in the Oil Industry

 Richard was a Board Director as well as the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Core Laboratories NV. He joined the company in 1994 serving as its Chief Financial Officer when he and a group of managers bought the business from its parent company through a management led buy-out. He led the company’s IPO onto the NASDAQ Stock Exchange just one year later and then moved the listing to The New York Stock Exchange in 1998.
